Question for Journalists posting here

I'm just curious how writers would like to have people respond to their Journal posts? Both threads are really great beginnings to this forum!

These are my suggestions but YMMV and feel free to offer suggestions/requests. :)

Something along the lines of the RP threads? IC and OOC (in cavern and out of cavern)

For example:
OOC: Wow, that was a very descriptive entry, I could almost see the rock formations! You write very well! Have you written other stories?

IC: Wow, did you get hurt when you jumped to that rock formation?

Or one could start a Journal thread and request that NO comments be made if that's their choice? Whatcha think?

Thanks! ;)

hello!

for responses to my journal, anything is cool. all i really ask is that nothing be spoiled, not even in the spoiler space, because i know i'd be tempted to look anyway.

but for a rule of thumb, i would say: respond in the manner that the journal was written in, so if the journal is IC, then respond in IC, and vice versa, just to be safe.
edit: on rereading the guidelines for posting in this thread posted by A'readal, apparently, all journals should be IC, so it guess it was sort of a moot point. :)

if someone wanted a journal with no responses, i guess they'd have to mention that at the start. (or can you lock threads so only one person can respond to them?)

Not moot at all! Guidelines can be changed and I like your ideas as well as Jerle's suggestions/questions. I see nothing wrong with a bit of chit-chat within the journals (at the author's discretion of course). ;)

 Maybe I should modify the guidelines.

Tink's got no problem with comments.

This would be a good place to leave comments . . .
and similar flashes in time . . .
by explorers who aren't registered over at The Lyst's blog site . . .

who aren't journaling . . .

or just have something to say . . .
or add . . .

about Tink's speculations . . .
associations . . .
thoughts while The Mental Mob's adventuring unfolds.

Oh!
And, Jerle?

Concerning your current title of . . .
"looking for the other side...." :

One of those teensy little fire flies on the URU logo here . . .
has the neatest way Tink's seen so far . . .
to do that.

Tink LOVES fireflies!

I'm fine with comments too. In fact, I'm someday going to need to know the "real" names of the different Ages!

I'm planning on re-writing my Riven journal (I'm two pages in so far) and I'd love it if people would let me know what they think of it. I would rather have no spoilers, eg people letting out what comes next in the game. But that is becasue it's a re-write.

If it;s the "first expiriance" jounal, like the Riven one i have on here at the moment, anythign is fine by me. I really enjoyed the input peopel had in the journal (and a half) I've written thus far. One day I'll get aroudn to doing more. Except maybe for Uru. This is a hard game to write about! :mower:

Cheers.
