I'm currently evaluating the viability of attending Mysterium. I already have a potential roomate (YKWYA) and the hotel stay would be semi-affordable, but I'm still having trouble estimating the cost for The Journey.

Boston to Toronto: (All estimates roundtrip)

Train via Amtrak is around $160 and needlessly complicated.
Airplane is around $250 and prohibitively expensive.
Grayhound buses run between $110 and $150, and are MUCH cheaper if multiple people travel.

So the question is:

Is/Are there anyone(s) from the metro Boston/Massachussets/New England area who are willing to organize carpooling/buspooling/trainpooling/planepooling or somesuch?

Folks, travelling together and buying tickets together, especially in advance, especially for Grayhound buses (added levels of especiallyness for students!) is LE CHEAP and in the interests of those still looking for a ride.

M'lah, other MA lurkers, what are your plans? Let me know!

Let's talk! The thread is lonely and wants discussion.

Get ISIC card, get discount!

don't you guys have ISIC cards there for students? They cut our train fares way down.

The problem with ISIC cards for us is that while we can get them, they expire every six months or something like that. I had one for awhile but the cost of renewing every six months vastly outweighed any savings I might have gotten from it.

Moiety-- ordinarily I'd love to be included in some kind of mutual transportation thingy, but I'm out of New England for the next probably six months so I'm not coming from the Boston area at this time. Not that this helps you at all, but the thread was lonely.

Maybe next year, depending on my employment situation then.
