Is that still in existence, or is it strictly limited to the Vancouver area? Could any Canadian board member kindly shed some light on this one? Thanks!

Apparently, the last time my mother was in Canada (Vancouver, about 5 - 6 years ago), she had to pay something like a $10 tax in order to leave the airport and get on her flight back to the States. They also apparently wanted the money in Canadian money.
Is that still in existence, or is it strictly limited to the Vancouver area? Could any Canadian board member kindly shed some light on this one? Thanks!

What you're refering to I think is the $10 airport tax, which is usually rolled into the price of the ticket and applies to anyone flying in or out of or within Canada anytime... and right now that's about $7.55 US. Check your invoice for your ticket and see if it's itemized!
And oh yes! See you there!
