Well a Day!

Hairy Handle, it looks as if we shall be plopping on your doorstep. We expect nothing shy of the red carpet treatment of course!

I am quite pleased that it shall be close. I had actually voted for Minneapolis but ChiTown is really much closer. Look out Museum of Fine Art, Shed Aquarium, Michigan Avenue. We're coming!

a very happy

Oh well... I should have known Orlando wouldn't make it.

I suppose Chicago is a better choice, though. You'lll probably get more attendants, as it's pretty much in the middle of the US, rather than being down here. I hope all the attendees have a good time. :eyebrow:

(oh, and Jerle, you aren't going, remember? :D )

Chicago?! :D :eyebrow: ;) ;)

Okay, I'm getting used to the idea. This seems fair, I somehow remember that Chicago won out in 2003, and got bumped when we were invited to Spokane...am I recalling this right? So hello, Chicago...

T'resah, looking for a roadmap

Cool. I've always wanted to see Chicago...I mean, besides the inside of the airport.

Maybe we'll run into the cast of ER. :eyebrow:

Daaaling,

I'm a squeeze over 3 hours North of Chicago ;) . Too far for a day trip I think (though I'm also about 5+ hours from Minneapolis). I may be staying with my Sista, donno. As I don't have to fly I may just get a room and share with someone who does - help them to keep expenses down. We shall see.

Now I need the dates! I hope my annual Cancer walk doesn't conflict. Oddly my walk is only about an hour from Minneaplois - go figure. :eyebrow:

A beautiful city, *and* home to the tallest building in the United States!

I'll see if I can make it.

Ouch, you touched a controversial issue there... OTOH, it's kind of irrelevant nowadays.

Terra-

We shall finally meet!! :eyebrow: I plan on staying with some good friends a little north of Chicago in Waukegan. I miss Chicago and can't wait to go *home* for a visit. I think Tweek and Kehra are also planning on coming.

Hardly controversial. In the United States, the Sears Tower is the highest building. No contest. It's taller than the Empire State Building, even, boasting a higher top occupied floor.

If you want to get controversial, you'd have to go outside the US. Fine. Doing that, we have the CN Tower in Canada, which is a free-standing structure, not a skyscraper, so it doesn't count as a "building". If we take the whole world into account, the Petronas Towers are "taller", but since decorative spires are pathetic and shouldn't count, and highest occupied floor is the logical measure, the Sears Tower is taller than Petronas. :eyebrow:

PM me if you want to continue this debate.

We now return to our regularly scheduled thread! :D

Oh no, another big city in which I shall get lost!

Just plop me in the art museum...anyone will do, surely. I'll just live there for awhile.

I will definitely be there though. I've missed the last two Mysteria after going to Phila, and I will NOT miss this one. (Only exception being death...mine or someone close to me...shh!! no jinxxy!) I've already set aside vacation days for it! :eyebrow: I'm so excited already!

I'll just have to find a city person to stick around....and hide behind...

FRODO!!!!!! :D

As of right now we are indeed planning on it. Course we also planned on it this time last year and it didn't happen :eyebrow:

Having a little more time to prepare will help a lot. I've already told my mom I intend to go, the kids are taken care of for that time period, whatever it might be (so they won't be coming), so hopefully we can get it done this year!

Yeah, but before 11-9-2001, this *was* a controversial issue...

Chicago is about... oh... 3 hours north-west of where I live. So if I can make the near-12-hour (internet-estimated 8-hour) trip to Toronto, I can surely get to Illinois... right? (I hope...)

Provided I get my license by then, I can go up by myself! ...and maybe swing over to Edrick's house first and pick him up and then head over. Hmm...

Yes, Chicago worked out just fine for me, at least, heh.
Though I would have preferred Florida so I could see certain people. :D

edit: 'be' to 'see' :eyebrow:

Hmm...Chicago...

It is a co-base of American Airlines (the other being in Dallas, where I would come from during the summer), so I may be able to get cheap tickets, which would of course be that much better... :D

On the other hand, we don't know the dates yet, so...

But, I do know someone in Chicago, and she says it is a great city... :eyebrow:

Who would you be if we went to Florida? And how would you be them?

I'm pretty sure that was meant to be "be with", and I'm pretty sure it was in reference to Capella. :D

Jesthar said she's only come if it was in Florida. He wants to meet both of us, not just me. (and not just her, nomad, no matter how much you claim they're together :eyebrow:)
