Latus is the passive participle of the verb fero, ferre, tuli, latus English: I bring, to bring, I brought, brought (passive).

Example: Latus sum means I was brought. Latus eram means I had been brought.

I learned this in Latin today, and my first thought was to post this here. So I did.

(BTW, my Latin may be a bit off, so if someone wants to correct me, that'd be awesome.)

Technically, latus means "having been brought".

But yeah, that's the gist of it. Wonder how "brought" fits in with all of this, though. :)

Here's my theory: it's just a coincidence. :)

I would think it means "I bring" or "I brought". Cyan is a company that thinks towards its consumers. Like any artist, they wanna "Wow!" us. They won't change from that concept. They're committed.

Rand & his bros are artists. And the rest of Cyan are artists. Don't "duh" me, They're gonna do something amazing. It's in their nature.

I bring: fero
I brought: tuli

Sorry, I'm picky.

Surely you've had enough experience with Cyan to know better than that?

Given how many unintended meanings kept cropping up with the word "Uru", I'm rather inclined to think that it is, indeed, a coincidence, but I also won't rule out it being coincidentally relevant .

I read in the Prima Guide for EoA with the interview with Rand that he said that Latus was tooo advanced, too different. Basically ahead of its time, which is why developers are scared to bite, they're fearing the world isn't ready. This sounds like it's going to rock!

That is great, because the only way I know for the world to move ahead and change is for someone to do things that ARE before their time, thus moving all the rest of us forward by harmonics......great....I hope they are also having fun doing it. I love waiting for wonderful things......like Christmass all year....

thanks for the note and update!
