I am voting for Talashar's Autumn Winds. I like fragmentary stream of consciousness very much, at least when I can understand it. Atrus and Yeesha were well portrayed, and congratulations on hiding the Stranger's identity in the dialogue. :)

Hmmm, so many decent enteries...which one to vote for... Well, sorry, but I'll have to go for The Stealing Game I thought it captured Sirrus' character so well. Especially his drive when he wants something, he'll plan and keep on until he gets it, not really caring what consequences his actions will have no others. You did a great job Aurelie. :)

Well done, everyone! J'ohn's Recession won in my mind, literally by one line. What a wonderfully unsettling way to end the story!

I must say that Talashar's fragmented memories had precisely the correct effect on me; my reaction was remarkably in agreement with Atrus'. But of all the worthy entries, I vote for Aurélie's The Stealing Game, which is my favorite depiction of young Sirrus out of the few I have read.

Wonderful entries! I tried my pen at a story involving Gehn and the Scarab but - Some things simply fail. Ah well.

But it's not about my attempt - it's about these excellent pieces.

As an (oft struggling) artist, I really loved ... Giant Goat but at nearly 1200 words, it was a bit beyond this challenge. As a stand alone it is quite remarkable!

Autumn Winds was marvelous! Such excellent crafting. And I was so torn between The Stealing Game and Recession that I re-read them a few times each. They all appeal to me so strongly but, in the end it was J'ohns story which won me over. I cast my vote for Recession.

Thank you all for such great writing!
