Read the first post in this thread again. :blinky:

[edit]
Someone split this thread off of another thread (I forget which thread this was part of) making my post irrelevant. :braces:

The money goes towards the winner (or, assuming multiple people, evenly split betwen all of them), as an incentive.

We are aiming to construct a Squee preservation of an area equal to the size of Peru. Hence the Squee icons.

As an incentive?! Blimey.

Well I don't understand the point of the money.

Surely anyone who wants to have a go at redesigning MC would do it for the fun of seeing their design be implemented into the board?

Personally I thought the board looked lovely as it was anyway!

I will not entertain a discussion on whether to have this fundraiser; you had a chance for that when it was first announced. The decision has been made; the fundraiser has already started and three people have already donated (and several more shown interest in doing so).

As a final note, I'd like to point out that, over the years, there have been multiple pushes for a redesign, none of which succeeded in full, and I'm hoping that this added component of a money prize will provide enough incentive to finally change that. I am not content with the default theme and feel that it's a significant flaw for MYSTcommunity; I also feel that dozens of regulars here have lots of talent in this very area, so we might as well use it, and reward them for their work. I fail to see what is hard to understand about that; furthermore, nobody is forced to participate neither in terms of donating nor in terms of working on the design.

Sadly, I'll have to close this.

(edit) instead, I split it off

Why? Blue 3D-ish is a fine layout and new emoticons? Gimme a break.

*Edit* Well, maybe if it looked like something straight out of D'ni.

It also happens to be the default layout for all IPB boards. :blinky:

Only if the current ones clash horribly with the new design.
