So, I'm in the beginning of Myst III. I've gotten the elevator turn, so I can inside Saveedro's (was that the name...?) tusk. There I've watched the hologram video and got out. Now there are these two problems:

1) I've directed the light and the mirrors so, that the beam of light comes to a machine in front of another tusk and reflects to the door, but the door won't open. I've noticed that I can press the different colored buttons on the door. I didn't find any clues to this, so I hoped that someone could help...

2) I've made the Squee go slurping the strange ball-shaped plants. Then I went up to another plant, pointed it to Squee's sound and the bigger ball-plants above me came out of the wall. I can get to the door behind them, but I've no idea 'bout how to solve the puzzle... Didn't find any clues to this either.

I know it's pathetic to ask help this early but I'm completely stuck... And would like to get on with the story. :D

This would probably (by the sounds of it) apply to both puzzles. Have you "focused" the doors so they will open?

I'm not sure if you just want a nudge or how much ... and so will start with a simple nudge. :D

I need a little more than a nudge... Or at least explain what you mean by "focus", but don't tell the whole solution... Wanna do something by myself, you know. :D

EDIT: And btw, I can open the door behind the ball-plants and I can get to the room, but I can't get the linking book down... So I need a little help with the marble sliding puzzle.

Have you explored the central tusk (the one where you fixed the elevator Saavedro sabotaged) thoroughly?

SBS :D

I think so... There shouldn't be anything left... I've pointed the projector thingies to the tusks... Maybe they aren't pointed correctly?

Sorry if "focus" was a little too non-descriptive ... but you figured it out anyway. When I said "focus" I was referring to the "projector thingies" :D

Did you still need a nudge on your first question?

As for the reflectors and the door... it all has to do with order.

Retracing your steps might help. :twitch:
