I've just completed the upgrade to Invision Power Board 2.2.

Aside from the obvious (a few new software features, as well as bug fixes here and there), this also comes with other changes:
  • A new, custom spam filter. This replaces our previous method of forcing all new members into a "requires approval for each post" group ("Fresh Members"). From now on, every successful registered person immediately joins the proper Members group. This works with a custom challenge question upon registration.
  • A new default skin; namely, Tay's purple/Myst Island variant. Two other variants to follow.

I hope there won't be any problems. There's probably some minor stuff not quite working at this point that we'll be weeding out in the coming days.

Nice to see that we've finally been updated. :P As for the new skins, hopefully they'll be up soon. I've grown rather attached to the Serenia Skin I was using.

Yeah, don't worry. Those are simple to set up. I just gotta make sure this skin is good, then all I'll add in the others and maybe more colors/themes. :)

I'm using IE7 - Version 7.0.5730.11

Two things I have noticed:

1) The Quick Reply button is off set and slightly hidden behind the New Topic button. (See image)

2) The Spoiler Tags don't seem to be working. Or has the way the work changed? I'm somewhat feeling the latter.

Thanks, I hadn't tested it in IE as much. I'll get to fixing things soon (this weekend is busy. Easter and all :P ).

Yeah.

And what IS up with the spoiler tags? It looks like you have to highlight them now.

I liked the boxes better. :P

I know there was some fundraising to pay as a reward for the skin (skins?) that are used, did that end up happening? Or was not enough raised?

Oh and I like the skin very much Tay :P And I'm also loving 2.2 board software :)

I remember seeing that little squee counter for the money, too. I always thought it was morbidly hilarious whenever there was a half a squee up there. :P

We'll make a decision about the fundraiser when… well, when we get a chance. Sorry. :P

One thing I noticed... when looking at user profiles, it seems that they now have two completely independent gender fields- the ones that were added by MC's coders a while back, and the ones that exist by default in 2.2. This seems a little redundant, methinks...

True. I'm not sure when I'll get around to merging those two.

Okay, I imported most (but, due to significantly different database structure, not all; this should only affect a few dozen people) data from the old gender field to the new one.

This is where Tay comes in with new images…

I would like to make a request ... and it is a simple one too. :P

Could you turn on the following options for Private Messenger to be always checked by default. This is how it was before and so much easier.

Options
  • Add a copy of this message to my sent items folder
  • Track this message?

Both of these should be checked by default and as I recall is a simple matter to change in the ACP. Thanks. :)
