Ha! I *knew* it!

AhonayFour01.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/5Yyycwd.jpg - the drawings on the rocks in Eder Gira were true!

Got in to the vault:
AhonayFour02.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/0VPtFmP.jpg
AhonayFour03.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/FtHE8s5.jpg

and down to the pod and actually did manage to solve the door to the control room quite easy, (I'd written down the patterns on the walls of the water-hall)
and WHOA!!

AhonayFour04.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/AQzy4WU.jpg

Oh, I'm SO gonna be hitting this age with the flymode and get some snaps once I've solved the puzzles here.. is this the Age that Catherine described in one of her books? Where have I seen a drawing of the water-disk age with the hole in the center.. Was it the Book of Atrus? What a perfect place to hide all this. Why? Oh, that's it. I've got to reread the books again. I've lost the plot for the solution of the puzzles.

What's this? Another Bahro drawing. Hm.. next to a clock it is!

Kadish The phony! What a load of bollocks.. the 'Grower' indeed. Of pure and utter bull. (Well, now it fits with Kadish Tolesa being a tree age.)

If the scrims on the water Ahonay weren't enough, THIS sure is!

AhonayBackstage04.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/T4qtVgJ.jpg

And this giant figure has GOT to be His Nibs.

Wow. I still don't know what to make of the clues, I got so hung up on finding this.. Heeeeeeee! I KNEW IT, though I'd have never thought this - I guess his dry bones threw me off - was his plan. I just thought it was the hoard he was on about.

Hm. Did find more of the square raised blocks - I'm overlaying them onto a grid, I have a feeling I know what they are.

Have been busier than I even want to think. Family needs attention and I find myself wishing for just a few *minutes* of peace and quiet in the Cavern.. or Edanna.. Still can't make heads or tails of how I got to the backstage area - My notes are a mess to say the least! Got to work it into a better narrative of *how*.. Will get back to Ercana - I think I drop three pellets into the well - I'm looking back over my snaps an at he image from the control room. 625 Gor-ahn-tee. One Tah-vo. Do I wait that long between tablets? Dunno.

I think I can do this..

What am I doing?

Nothing is happening. I think the clock is for something other than the pellets.

Ugh. I think I'm back to a corrupted preferences file again. Am going to reinstall my VM and start fresh. :(

I got a 64-bit version of XP from my uncle and installed that, and was using it to go to the Alcugs shard (in the open source URU) and it hung at one point when I was quitting and now NO version will open.

Head, meet desk!

That's it. I'm off to Edanna for a while.

Hmm. Found that by hitting fly-mode while in Phil's cubbyhole, I could get across to the map room! I'd have never guessed this was plotted as a real environment, always thought it was just a slide. Cool.. got a snap of it.

And where is Phil's cubbyhole?

You get to the 'cubbyhole' from the linking book in Teledahn. From there you can either link back to either Teledahn, or go to Phil's Relto. There you have one book to choose from, and it links you to one of the neighborhoods on the far side of the cavern. In the game that I'm playing, it's an offline 'Total Chronicles' that I got off of Pirate Bay and I loaded it up with the latest offline KI and last Age Manager. If I recall, the online cubbyhole link is a bit different. Not sure.. it's been a while, I'm having fits with my ISP and so I stick offline most of the time now.

If you want to find it, it's EXACTLY on TPB listed as. Uru.Total.Chronicles.2009.by.Bogdahn.exe..
get that and the lastest offline KI, the Drizzle30.jar which loads and updates the Age Manager. Oh yeah, getting the newest java doesn't hurt, so that the fly-mode works perfectly.

I actually didn't intend to fly out of that cubby, I was trying to answer an e-mail and hit the wrong key command to get out of the VM and instead launched my avatar through the wall.

Surprise! looking through the spyglass in the cubby looks to a real 3D rendered room, not a slide!

Slight correction.. the file-name I gave isn't the same as the actual index listing on TPB for the game... for that you want to search for "MYST Uru Total Chronicles".

I've got my torrent client on, and if you're looking for the Drizzle 30, go here: http://dusty.homeunix.net/uru-ages/ you can get both the the Offline KI and Drizzle30 and other goodies there..

I'm back! Been super hella busy and have been unable to get in much time to work out the puzzles, and have also been in the process of finding out the best way to backup the VM after the last time it got messed up. As luck would have it, I had an old Dell XP box, with the prettiest most complete XP install I've ever seen. XPSP3 with all the bells and whistles right up to April 8th 2014, when Microsoft officially ended support. That night, I did the Parallels import on the OS after cleaning out the prior owner's user accounts information and made a redundant copy of the image for backup. Sweet! So far, I've started fresh and not a single hiccup, I think the problem was with the Vista install itself - it was a backup disk that came with a Gateway and perhaps there was some incompatibility with the drivers. Having an actual working, updated PC to clone the VM from seems to have made all the difference!

Well, most of the difference.. I'm STILL stuck back where I was with the clock on the Ahonay control room doing some countdown and I still haven't worked out what it is for. All things being equal, having already solved so much of the game, I am now taking a bit more of a sightseeing path, and am filling in the photo albums I've made with more snaps. (Also, I've gotten an apple Cinema Display that was broken and fixed it.. whoa.. the grabs, still being made on the CRT monitor, look astonishing when set on the widescreen.)

So instead of any journal entries, there's more pictures!

Some more shots of that hidden backstage area in Ahonay.

Then into the control room where the clock is, with a view of the opening windows to the outside..

Using FlyMode to step out of the room.. the view really opens up.

A lovely lower-level view of a Bevin. Am trying to get a bit more 'photo-like' with the snaps.

(on first glance this shot seemed a bit drab, but the color and composition of this really caught my eye..)

Phil's Bevin.. I just love the blue lights. If I had to live in a Bevin one with these colors would be my choice. I find this so pleasing to the eye.

PhilsBevin01.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/PxWTeqH.jpg

That's it for tonight, it's taken a while to load these images, now that Comcast has officially given it's Personal Webpage Service the stick, the File Manager goes interminably slow on occasion, and tonight was a good number of snaps loaded.

As always, Enjoy!

Deb.

Love the shots! You've tagged Gira as Kemo and vice versa, though - the night shot with moons, steam, and waterfall is Gira.

Is excited! Have a new used MacPro 2008 coming in a few days. Will get a snappy new partition ready for Mavericks, which my current MacPro1,1 will not run (I'm stuck with the model with a 32-bit bootloader.. seriously Apple, after what I paid for this?) in preparation for Obduction. So with that on the horizon, it beehoves me to get to the end of as many of the Ages as I can. I still have to finish End of Ages, which will probably involve me restarting the whole thing, though I imagine with my notes I could pick up on that fairly quickly.. Ugh, that creepy guy on the beach, what was his name? I'll have to look it up later.

So, it's back to the thick of it.

Have read the poetry book, or whatever it is, and have been jotting down the numbers tacked up here and there. Still can't make sense of it, are they passages in books? Hm.

Moar later!

Deb.

TIME! I think the penny just dropped with the clock in the control room in the 4th Ahonay age.. I'm off to work out the clock bits - in the Watcher's Pub.. I can not believe that this has kept me stymied for so long. I really do not see things I am looking at. Jeez Louise!

Will be back when I work this out.. Heeeee!

Yisss!

I managed after a totally clean break for well over a year to work out the Watcher's puzzle! Surprising how the senses are sharpened to what I was hearing.. and how it fit.

..annd, I suddenly realize that it's well past my bed time and I've got a LONG day ahead of me tomorrow. Ugh. Will get the rest of the journal updated tomorrow.

Okay.. got into the Grower's Tree(?) and followed the path on the floor which took me to the library on Myst! I know what those blocks are for! Put in the pattern and lo, I got a linking book to K'veer, some flowers for my Relto and a message from Yeesha. She told me to follow her and I linked to Aegura and got a lightshow..

AeguraLights01 - http://i.imgur.com/clvd3ic.jpg
AeguraLights02 - http://i.imgur.com/MeBFeha.jpg

Second time through and I picked up a red tunic with white trousers and shoes (really not my colors) so I bailed and scarpered back home and changed.

Suddenly I realize that my KI only had a handful of markers picked up. I think I need the rest of those, as I noticed in MOUL, there's a blue line - like a laser - that seems to swing by on occasion.. and I don't recall seeing anything like this, so I've got to see what I missed. Time to go To Dni.

Down to the last marker.. where is it? I think I'm going to have to go through all the ages - Teledahn, Kadish, both Eders and find those linking cloth tablets. Gotta be a backtrack to some cavern location I can't get to otherwise.

Hm.

Ha! Found it!

Heeeee! I've all the lights in the KI lit, so now what? Okay, back to the Great Zero..

Rezeero002.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/gUQNV98.jpg
Rezeero003.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/FLfYdgm.jpg

Annnnnnd.. Shit. This is where my game went sideways last time, as the KI that I've got doesn't *work* in the standalone Total Chronicles game - and if I mix the preferences I'll end up with markers that I cannot get - I can hear them, but they do not display.

So, now I switch to my proper Complete Chronicles and run, run, run as quick as I can through the games *in the correct order* to get to the locations that I can only find with the KI that's dedicated to the offline game.

Bob O'Goobo, right? Yep! - TempleShortcuts001.jpg - http://i.imgur.com/s2SVjh2.jpg

Gah!

But on a nicer note, I opened up my display preferences and managed to get 2304x1768 resolution in the VM and even bigger, prettier snaps!

Aaah! I've discovered a page of my notes - the one that got hit by an errant spill of coffee - is the one I need.

I cannot read it.

Why do I do this to myself?

Oh brother.. I've gotten two of the markers to get the Reezero up and running, but the last one is proving to be elusive! I think I'm in the correct place, in Bevin, the distance is 1001 whatevers.. the torans are 60143, height in those whatevers is -70 from the zero point and I just can not find it!

Gah! What am I doing wrong?! It's in these moments that I am sorely tempted to go into flymode and just work out the location that way.. but it's a cheat and I will bash my head on the wall before I go this route.. (Hell, Obduction was less frustrating!, though I DO have some *super* nice large snaps - 4K - I took on that trip.)

Later.
