This thread should have been started weeks or months ago :)
2 weeks 'til Mysterium, so, who's coming?

With a little bit of luck I should be there, though I'll be staying two blocks away at the Days Inn because the official hotel was all booked up.

I'll be flying in Thursday night and leaving Sunday afternoon, are there any specific meet-up times?

As usual, it's absolutely impossible for me to get there, although I am crying because I just miss it by a hair this time. My sister is moving to SD in September, and goes out there regularly to visit her boyfriend, so I was hoping I could tag along on one of her trips, but no deal. My laptop died AGAIN and my car is (hopefully!) getting fixed so I have no money to spare at all. :)

Next year! (I keep saying that every year... :P)

I'm coming! I should arrive Thursday and leave Monday evening.

We might want to decide on some meeting times and excursions if the Committee doesn't come up with any. Anyone have any ideas?

I would love to start planning some excursions since the commitee seems to be somewhat... Inactive. And unresponsive, actually, since I haven't gotten replies recently, but there you go.

I live in LA, so I'll be around for as long as is needed. I live in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Santa Monica, so I feel like I'll be somewhat useful in terms of contributing ideas.

I know Myst fans tend to love museums, and LA has LACMA, The Page Museum by the infamous La Brea Tar Pits, The Getty, The Natural History Museum, and lots of other interesting little compendiums of knowledge tucked away in its many corners. There's also The Bradbury Building, renowned for the sheer steampunkery of its interior, so that's a lot of things to think about.

I'd also love to invite everyone over to my house for one of the nights; as I posted here quite a while back, the new house that my parents acquired in stunningly Myst-esque, complete with metal sconces, tons of detail, and hidden compartments... It would be fun to finally get some more Myst fans to check it out. :P

I was also considering suggesting some hiking ideas, if people were interested. Vasquez Rocks are always a fun and otherworldly place to check out, and there are plenty of caves and forests around to satisfy one's exploratory needs. Anyway, those're some ideas, think them over, and I hope more people respond to this.

Cheers for now, and no Harry Potter spoilers during Mysterium. :)

I'm kind of concerned about the fact that no one from the Mysterium Committee will be attending. :P
Other than that, I wasn't going to attend anyway. It's not going to happen in the future either, unless the US eases up on security or Mysterium is held in Canada again.

I am planning to attend, along with two others from my area. I like the idea of visiting Shoomlah's folks' place plus the Getty and other ideas suggested.

Shoomy, perhaps you should start a thread in this forum about Mysterium itinerary ideas :)

Just a thought....

Heeey, last I saw you I had struck you down with a lightsaber... How's that working out for you?

And yes... Good point. :)
