Hi. I'm new, here. I've been playing Riven for a while, and I got to the puzzle with the moving stones. After pushing them in every order I thought likely, with the sounds and shapes and animals I'd seen, I visited this website. I learned that I apparently had pushed the stones in the right order, but Riven still didn't respond when I did.

The order I pushed the stones in was 1.Triangular fish, 2.Scarab with wings on back, seen from side with 3 legs, 3.Frog, 4.That thing that honks at you on the rock in the cove, and 5.The whale-like thing with a tail fin going up, a large dorsal fin and another fin going downwards.

So I checked reasons why this may have occurred. I have Windows XP and there was a comment, a while back, that people's games glitched up, when they had it. But my game continues to allow me to move, and the music and sequences seem to play just fine. I am allowed to load games, as well, so this doesn't appear to be the case.

So my other alternatives have to be that I have either not done something I should have, yet, or that I am pushing the wrong combination of stones. I tried all combinations with every animal I'd seen on all the islands and I've been in the middle of this same puzzle now for about 3 weeks. :D Don't get me wrong; Riven is an amazing game, and I love the series, itself. I'm reading that 930 page book that came with it. But three weeks of getting nowhere is long enough to make me want to ask for help on the subject. :rotflol:

I believe you have the correct order. When I played, I had the correct animals and order, but I chose the wrong one to represent the frog.

HERE is a link to a picture of the five animals stones. Make sure you've chosen the right ones!

Edit: OH, and welcome to this forum! :D :rotflol:

Oopsie. I wasn't aware you were the only one who can use it.
I guess I'll stick to the Tomato Hammer, then. :rotflol:

Well, seeing as I'm the one with the Hammer of correction... :rotflol:

No, I meant that I kinda am the only one who does that... it's just my thing when I greet newbies.
