I've been trying to upgrade my current screen, a Philips 109B20, to a larger one, and decided on the Philips 202P70. However, CRT monitors have become pretty hard to come by lately, so I haven't had any luck so far. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone knows a store that:
  • Has the Philips 202P70 in stock or can order it (somehow, somewhere)
  • Is not defunct (I've seen plenty of websites claiming they have it - but on further inspection it invariably turns out the site is dead)
  • Ships to The Netherlands
  • Is not a second hand Ebay-like kind of trading platform
  • Doesn't charge more than 500 Euros
Then you could help me a lot! :cheesy:

When I read this, I thought, "Oh, that can't be hard to find." I changed my mind.

We havent reviewed any of their frames. They havent released anything new in a long time, were really not sure whats going on over there. Recently Philips has backed out of a lot of consumer electronics, deciding to license their name to Funai instead of producing products on their own.

Yes, they're pulling out of the less profitable segments of consumer electronics, which leaves us with the crap other companies release. :arianna:
By now I've given up on my search, but in case anyone should still find it, I'm interested nonetheless.

Well, I thought that you and Free Bird were the same person. I was wondering why Free Bird was talking to and answering himself. XD The same signature banner thing was throwing me off.

[Edit]Ahh... we bumped the thread! Oops.

It appears you're right. I have to give credit to the bot's programmer for posting something that was almost on topic, though...
EDIT: I take that back. That moron just copied someone else's post from another forum.

Some guy did that in another thread, too, in the general forum I think. They're hoping you'll notice the signature, I suppose. Size tags might help. :P

Bahaha, I just noticed that you edited his signature.

Well, my monitor broke down yesterday, so I've just redoubled my efforts to find this elusive replacement monitor. Right now this seems to be my best bet, even though it's not the right color (but I couldn't care less anymore - I just want to have it!)...

Grr... I was searching again today, knowing full well that it would probably be in vain, and bumped into that site again. I wasn't sure whether I'd seen it before or not, but after looking back at this thread (since it's CONSTANTLY showing up in Google EVERY SINGLE TIME when I decide to give this search another go  ) I realized the awful truth.

Waiting for a reply to my email seemed pointless before, and even more so now. I think I'll have to admit defeat here and settle for a second-hand monitor. The one I'm looking at right now is so... 60 Hz. It's amazing how well one can get used to that all over again, though! It took me a week or two (headaches included), but I did get there in the end!
