Better late than never, the voting thread is here at last. :cheesy:

RealMyst by Gehn, lord of ages

Anlage by Cactus Wren

The voting deadline is...hmm...February 13 midnight GMT. Winner gets a laurel wreath! ...but since the squees got into the laurel, you'll have to settle for the honor of coming up with an idea for the next challenge. Such is life.

I don't feel I can fairly vote here. Voting for myself would be cheating. However, that would mean that I would have to vote for Anlage, which would basically mean I wasn't voting at all, if you know what I mean. Plus, if we both do so, we'll just end up canceling our votes.

So, I'll just comment and tell Cactus Wren that she did a good job at tying in the challenge prompt, and also doing it very neatly and concisely. (and we both wrote on Atrus/the brothers :cheesy: )

I'll vote for you if you'll vote for me. :D

(I would have voted for your piece anyway as it's NFBSKing hilarious.)

I vote for Anlage, too. I liked both texts but that one stayed in my mind for many hours after reading it. Scary.

*hasn't read the Myst books so wonders how much was fanfic*

Which, as I noted before, cancels out our votes. :rotflol: So yes, we both vote for each other's writings. :D

Gloa: Thank you. :cheesy:

Soleila: All of it except Achenar's being the elder of the brothers. Gehn did at one point plan to force Catherine into marriage, but there's no suggestion that he attempted to force her into anything else.

Oh, no!

There's still time to vote here, but I'm almost unable to. We have completely different approaches, each wonderful! Gehn, yours was the most creative of approaches, and very funny. I loved it and didn't think anyone could top it.
Cactus Wren, your vignette is equally good in a completely different and shuddery way! Aaargh!

After much torment, if I must choose between them I will chose Cactus Wren because I am a sucker for well-done character backstory development.

The two stories this month were excellent in their very different ways (so much so that I ran out of time to decide on my vote :cheesy:), but the winner is Cactus Wren with Anlage!

Congratulations!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

... Ahem. I'd like to thank the Academy, and all my fans, and my parents who made all this possible ...

:cheesy: Sorry. Really, thanks to everyone, I'm so glad you enjoyed (if that's the word) the piece. And Talashar, I'll PM you when I come up with an idea for the next challenge!
