I opened it with paint already, couldn't find any hidden words or anything. I'll toy with it a bit more.

I mirrored it with the crease being the rectangle under the gift and didn't really see anything of value.

Everything you need to know is in there. Keep it well hidden.

Is there any way to "open" the gift? Is this a file type that is layered?

Oops, sorry for the double post, I figured it would've auto merged.

A few more things.

At the end of his post, he has </div>. Quote it and try to post, you'll see it. What does this mean/do?

Also, why is his last sentence smaller? To add effect or is it a part of the puzzle?

Maybe the colors represent ages or places?

2 of them are in Haven, 1 of them is in...Green? And one of them is in maybe the viewer? The bottom could be white noise.

Yes. No.

Absolutely nothing.

To specify that there is something to do with that picture.

Does anyone have the version of powerpoint that allows you to choose a color to make transparent through out the whole picture? If so, select the gray background, I think the same shade is a repeating color in the whitenoise at the bottom, maybe something will show up.

That can be done in the 03 and 07 versions of word, but whether you are zooming in on it or blowing it up, the quality is horrible and it's difficult to tell one pixel from the next.
Anyone with photoshop that can handle this better?

Why making it simple when you can make it complicated. :blinky:

I figure it's staring all of us right in the face and we'll just end up beating ourselves when we find out what it is. :blinky:

You're a shifty one you.

The problem is that we really don't know what we are trying to find. I like this whole Spyder redux thing, but so far we really don't know where to go or what we are trying to get at.

OH SONOFASQUEE

It's a present! What in revelation is a gift? Is the first easter egg related to Sirrus' Chess Set? Even the ground looks like it could be rock from Spire!

1. The reason it is a gift is because the picture was first released on Christmas.

2. You will know where to go when you will have solved this "puzzle".

3. You requested one so:

Oh.

That picture, that's not revelation, is it the cleft? The whark skeleton? If so then Atrus had to go to the cleft to get supplies, so that leaves us with:

-Atrus
-Imager
-Tomahnna Upper Area

OR is it:

-Haven
-Achenar
-Hunting

and a boat load of plausible yet indirect relationships. How this relates to the gift, Achenar=Red=Haven? Maybe the first egg is in Haven.

Ooo! Link! Click the picture!

Before trying something, ask yourselves:
Can it be done in paint or notepad?

Probably a good thing though. :blinky:

Okay, since I failed to find anything with Paint I took the other chance and opened the .PNG with Notepad.

If there's any hidden message in this gibberish someone else is going to have to decipher it. :blinky:

Well I looked at it too and it doesn't look like there's anything there, even though the clues suggest otherwise.

Well maybe the 2 big red stripes means haven, and the small green one means the swamp! :pout:

But really, am I the only one who suspects this has nothing to do with the colors? it's a gift, so maybe he just made the colors so it will look like a gift? :blinky:

EDIT: maybe it's some crystal imager code (sorry if it was already assumed :gosh:)

Maybe the 2 red stripes means we should put the haven combination into the crystal imager, and the green stripe means we should turn all of the crystals to green?

(yes I know he said "in plain text", I just can't get anything out of the text. Should we...hide it? should we...open it? no idea what to do)

Have you noticed that the border of the gift is darker but not black.
