I think we can put our differences behind us. For science. You monster.

:)

...weird that the facility has more moving parts after it's mostly eroded than it did in the original game... :(

Yessssss

I half-expected this to be a link to padfoot's cool mock trailer. But I'm so happy now. I hadn't even heard that they were making another one.

So that's what all those beep-bee-beep-beeping radios and the strange new ending in Portal was all about.

I just hope they're able to pull of the incredible success of Portal 1 again.

You didn't look into the strange beeps? I'll let you look it up, it was crazy cool, maybe the most in depth easter egg to date.

I've since looked it up, of course.
Funnily enough, I knew about a potential Portal 2, and then saw the trailer, and later saw that there was a patch available, but I never made the connection between the patch and the upcoming sequel. D'oh. :)

Actually the surprise was that it was coming to PS3, the fact that there would be a sequel has been known for at least a few months now.

I can't wait for this game, the first one is easily on my list of "Greatest Games Ever Made".

Amendment: I had thought that the trailer was a surprise at E3. I knew they were working on it.

And same. :)

Definately pumped for this one. The first Portal was a blast, and I'm sure this one is going to be too.

They were out of Beta with Portal 1. Hopefully they can get out of Delta with Portal 2.

Have been waiting for something like this ever since I bought the game when I found out that there was a game by viewing one of the fourms here.

May the Grower guide you.

GLaDOS is back! Best to watch your back though, as it doesn't look like she is welcoming you with open arms...

Zed Oh My Yahvo! This looks more fun than I imagined.
EDIT: Watching the slowed-down, longer video gave me the impression that GLaDOS was much more powerful and controlling than she let on in the first game. I wonder if the first game was all a test after all... I like hte authentic English voice too, rather than a terrible faked one so non-English players could understand what it's meant to be.

It's great to hear Glados' voice again!
I thought I'll never say that, but it's definitely great. :eyebrow:

(Should I start a new topic? I hate to make such a huge bump, but this Portal 2 topic is already here...)

So, Portal 2 is coming out next month, and Valve has put some new videos together for Portal 2, including the preorder trailer here at IGN. Go through the list of related videos on the right to see the intro to the game, and a little preview featuring some dialogue from Cave Johnson being read over the loudspeaker.

In that last video, I noticed some significant changes in style between the first Portal and Portal 2. What do you guys think? Better? Worse? Neither of those two?

I really want this game, but then again I don't want to pay that much for it. I'll be waiting until the initial hype wears off and the prices drop. So give me a few years. Posted Image

Yeah, this game does look really different than the first one. While the first one was very clean and streamlined, it looks like they've gone more organic with this one. It does set it apart from the first, but I think that was a good move. As awesome as the first one was, we don't need another one just like it.

It's $45 bucks on steam now and it includes a copy of Portal 2. Considering most AAA PC games sell at $60 on release, this is a steal.

But yeah, come December you will probably be able to pick it up for $5. :p
