Even after reading that, I'm still not entirely sure how it was solved. You had to enter dates in the order they were first entered? And then it would let you add a new date?

I thought I heard a bunch of people discussing the solution being listed in the source code or something? I actually took a look at it too and saw what I think were the already entered combinations.

They made lists of combinations that should be tried.

but no the sourcecode was encrypted actually I think. At least that was not how they cracked it.

Is there any update on this at all?

Their website doesn't show much - just a single page with text on it...

Hope this hasn't all fallen flat.

They explained most of how the puzzle worked in this post. Might be some more information in the comments, but otherwise I think the puzzle is solved and done with.

For those who don't already know, we've got an update from the producers. Highlights:

Quote

After countless meetings, discussions, and countless story alterations, we’ve decided to open up the Myst cannon and broaden our horizon story wise. The Book of Ti’ana has been our starting point... but... we are stepping back and looking at the complete universe that is Myst to revaluate our starting point.

...And trust me we’re not throwing out BoT, we are just taking a step back and looking at all our options. BoT will play a very key roll to whatever story we tell, whether it’s this movie, or another one in the franchise.

Quote

...we are now looking square in the face of a $100+ million dollar major motion picture, that is headed in the direction of a very successful franchise.

Quote

Cyan has taken a MUCH more active roll in the movie process during the last couple months, and will continue to movie forward. If we are considering other story options, having Cyan intimately involved in that is vital, both to the fans and to the property. And I have to say, working with Cyan like this has been refreshing, rewarding, and delivering some awesome results! Sitting down in a room with Rand for hours talking about story, plot, characters and even puzzles is a dream come true for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the way we’re headed.
