I remember the very first time I've been playing Myst: Masterpiece Edition.

I can remember the feeling of immersion I felt as I played it and the dilemma I was
introduced to with either releasing one of the brothers, I decided to bring both blue and red
pages to fully understand their nature.

But however, I got stuck in a particular puzzle and gave up. Soon I skimmed over some spoilers on wikipedia,
I just remember reading about both brothers being evil and sealed in their books by Atrus - how I regret it now.

Even if I buy the most advanced version of one of the best games around, will I still be immersed in it like I once was since
I know one part of the plot? (Although not the rest, everything is still gonna be a surprise to me)

Yeh, go for it.
The magic never wears off, there is something about the stillness of the Myst environment coupled with the slightly eerie music that cannot be equalled - it is a truly unique experience.
RealMyst is good although I found the constantly changing weather etc slightly irritating, the plus was of course the addition of Rhime.

Go on, play it, you know you want to....:loveya:

I loved the time of day and weather changes personally.

Definitely go for it, it's a steal both on GoG and Steam. Btw, it will be tricky to get running, but I've managed to get it to run flawlessly on Win7 multiple times, so I can help you out if that's what you're running.

I can't recall any problems with the steam version, really. But that might just be me,

Having played both, I have to say that I prefer the prerendered, original version. realMYST doesn't have the same quality that the original does.

Do you consider realMyst to be a replacement or a supplement?
