I am about to build myself a new computer and have a couple of myst questions.

I'm assuming for myst online all I need to do is re download the software install and enter my normal login and everything will be as I left it. Is that correct? Or do I have to do something else to keep my character and stuff and bookshelf?

I'm going to be installin windows 7. I am currently using xp. I'm guessing most of my myst games will not work in 7. I am trying to decide if its worth going for the pro version because of its xp mode. Is it worth it? Will myst games work ok in this mode?

Thanks.

You're correct. All of your characters and their progress are stored server-side, so nothing important will be lost. The only things stored on your computer (in My Documents\Uru Live) are your avatar portraits and your client settings (controls, graphics quality, etc). If you want to keep those, just copy that folder to your new computer (in Windows 7, it's C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents). :)

I don't know as much about this, I'm afraid. But I would assume that while it gives you a better chance of getting an old game to run, there's no guarantee. Hopefully someone else knows more about this.

I've gotten every Myst game to run on 7 albeit with some minor trouble shooting. And please, pleasepleaseplease don't buy an upgraded version of 7. The Virtual Computer or whatever its called is awful and will be terrible for running games. I'd recommend Virtual Box. It's free and it WORKS.

I believe your KI pictures are also stored on your computer. You might want to back those up if there are any you're attached to.
