Other people may not notice these kinds of anniversaries, but I do. ;)

If my memory serves me correctly, ten years ago Myst III: EXILE was released. 7th of May, 2001. Ten years... Where does all the time go?

I think I'll spend the day replaying it. :)

Wow, has it really been a whole decade? Considering the other games that were made around that time, it's held up surprisingly well. It's very spry for its advancing years. Posted Image

I actually played it a bit about a week ago. It really has held up pretty well.

One of my all time favourites, loved it when it came out - still do.
Still has that air of 'Mystery' about it, the last of the games to be in the same vein as Myst (original) and Riven.

Yeh, still holds up 'very' well and still has its magic...

:gosh: Woah, ten years already? It didn't look like it...
I actually intended to play it again, but alas, work keeps me from playing anything these days :/
To be honest, I thought that Exile had been released something like six years ago- not ten! :p

Wow. 10 years gone in a flash. I always liked the visuals and 360 feel of exile but the oversimple puzzles ruined it for me. However thinking about it only last week it has held up second only to Riven in my memory, probably my second fave of them all for me.

It was also Exile, prerelease that brought me to MC, which was one of the best things to happen to me.

Salutations to Myst III Exile!

Gosh 10 years !!!!!

I live in the UK and I remember being in a total frenzy waiting for the release of this game.

Then it was anounced that the US release would be first and the UK release would be months later !!!!!!

So I pre-orded the US version and it was shipped out by express air freight and I had it in the UK the following day after the US launch.

It cost me a pretty penny at the time and I remember my wife giving me a real hard time about the expense......and then about 4 weeks after it had arrived I got another invoice from the customs people and I had to pay import duty !!!!!!!

I hid that invoice from my wife.

lol

Happy days of great excitement

Happy 10th anniversary Exile! :squee:

I agree that it's aged well! I played it in early 2008, well into the current generation of consoles, and it still felt like a great game, full of beauty, mystery and interesting ideas. Cheers!
