[Gehn, lord of ages]

Alas, the poor neglected IC forum for MOULa. It has such potential for good storylines, but hasn't really gotten a lot of attention.

So, my idea: If we have a band of us work out a basic storyline of In Character events, we can post threads which slowly reveal this storyline (and link up, thus perhaps extending the life of those threads, which usually are pretty short). We could extend this to some short marker missions and stuff for community Uru gatherings now and then too. Other people who aren't in the main group of storyline people could still comment and interact with the story too (an interactive audience of sorts).

The main problem is... what storyline (or, more likely, small storylines one after each other, rather than one grand thing)? I'm vaguely considering a mystery (maybe someone's stuff keeps getting stolen? Threads about stuff being stolen - threads that seem unrelated but help set down clues about where everyone was at what times, eventually leading to figuring out the culprit?), but I don't really have much of an idea.

So it looks like we have a good group of posters to go by - any ideas on storylines?

So vague attempts at storylines (note: "storylines" - not "good, well thought out storylines"):

Mysteries (spoiled because they are mysteries)

Spoiler

- Food supplies of various characters are disappearing! Then even larger things start disappearing (like, say, a Relto clock)! Of course, one person complaining about similar things happening is just doing so to keep his/her cover as he/she steals stuff!

I have ideas for the "solution" of the mystery, but be warned that they are as ridiculous as the mystery itself.

- Everyone was stealing from each other as a prank that they all came up with at the same time. They then got all bemused at why their stuff was also being stolen!
- Nobody was stealing, but everyone was pretending things were being stolen to look not-guilty.
- Someone was stealing things because they were hungry. Someone else decided to take other stuff to spruce up their Relto. A moral lesson is taught.
- Someone was stealing things because they were going to throw a party for the others and needed food and decorations for it.
- Bahro.

- Jekyll and Hyde retold.

- One character is stuck in a maintainer suit and can't communicate out. Everyone else has no clue what their problem is, how they got into the suit, or even who they are. Audience helps solve each mystery (as the stuck character tries various methods to communicate which need some help in interpretation), eventually solving the last mystery of "how do we get the person out of the suit?")
-- Bonus points if it's one of the really thick suits and the person can't even move around that much.

- Random notes get left around people's Relto's and private Ages! How can this be? Who is leaving the cryptic messages (maybe combined with some theft as in the first example, or moving books and items around in sneaky ways for unknown reasons)? What do they mean? (another possibility: There's also printouts of KI pictures which show that the unknown person is stalking around when the other characters don't know it (helping to narrow down the identity of the suspect in the end). )

- Someone is throwing a party.
- Multiple people are doing the various tricks.
- The first note was just something someone accidentally dropped from a notebook or something (and was then misinterpreted and taken out of context). The later notes are just everyone else trying to pull some kind of prank (hence why the messages don't seem to match up together, making them more cryptic seeming) or trying to trick the supposed lurker.
- Someone is testing a robot which hasn't quite mastered its job. It's good at taking pictures and writing down important information it needs to send back to its master (but in an odd way to humans).
- Bahro

Romance (ZenT-oh wait, wrong thread )

- Bahro Romeo and Juliet, played out through the intermediaries of the various players we have here and their Relto's (who help arrange meetings, etc.)

- Bahro Romeo and Juliet without the tragic ending.

Other/Comedy

- Teams are formed in a rivalry over some sport. Each team tries to find new ways to strengthen themselves and get an unfair advantage.

- Sudden comical war between the factions over some slight. Pranks or epic fighting (poetry?).

- The characters answer audience questions about the cavern or other facts, with humorous off the top of their head answers.

- The team opens a business in the cavern, and we watch the chronicles of their successes and failures (well, mostly failures).
