Currently running at around£26 (GB), I would have bid far more than that...

Hello everyone!

So, I lost on the ebay bid at literally the last possible second, and I'm hoping whoever did outbid me is willing to hear me out and can see this. I'm hoping to find whoever won for a couple reasons, but mostly for The Starry Expanse Project, who was so looking forward to using the production stills in their work. I realize that the anon who won paid quite a bit but we're all hoping he or she will be open to digitizing some of the stills for the community at large. If whoever it is doesn't feel comfortable de-anoning on a forum space, please feel free to email me at m13@mysterium.net or send me a private message here! (Seriously, your clicking-fu is masterful and I am in awe.)

Hi.

I've added an additional RIVEN item on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/161760775240

RIVEN: Rare "Myst II" Development Team hat

Once again, I tried figuring out international shipping on eBay, and I am still flummoxed (could they make it more difficult?). Thus, I've listed this item as US Shipping.

Best regards,
Allan

Not me my friend, not at THAT price!

Don't care how rare it is especially when I could get one printed for about £12, OK it is new and not original but as with the framed discs I made up, do I care about that? Not really... Still, wouldn't mind having the original disc set though, just for historical interest...

Still, obviously somebody out there thinks it is worth it...

Perhaps you should watch for some of this stuff returning to ebay. May have been bought by someone who thinks it's worth more and hoping for a quick buck out of the fans. The greater fool theory of bubble economics.

Seems like somebody on ebay called Stormblade is selling Myst and Riven posters at fairly high prices £69 - £120 so there are people who seem to think there is a high price market for this stuff...

This is a really nice item to own folks.

I got my copy from Cyan several years ago.

Serious Riven guys should try to get this.

I think it also has the missing East Path as one of the months pictures as well

I wonder what rare item will be put on EBay next !

Keep hoping there will be something I'd like.....but the shipping to the UK needs to be sorted out......I sell stuff for overseas shipping all the time.

If there was a Riven related item you'd like to see up for sale...something you've always wanted but never been able to get.....what would it be ?

.....tell you what....I'll just keep posting here an maybe, just maybe someone will respond ? :chatter:

Was there ever a Press Pack released when Riven came out ?

I've got the Exile Press Pack ( a thing of beauty) and have long searched fruitlessly for the Revelation Press Pack to no avail.

I know there was also a lot of silly promotional stuff that came out round about the Riven release....Riven jenga for example (......no idea why I bought that !)

But I've always wondered if Riven had a Press Pack issued for its release....does anyone know.....does anyone have one ?

Ooh well, I am referring to the original non-compressed images which they would have made before reducing them in size to fit the computers in use at the time, we know that some high res images exist but from what Tony told me they threw out the hard drives with the machines so they may be lost forever.
What I need is a time machine so I can go back to 1996 when they were working on it and grab the images when they all go home... ;-)

Ahhhhhhhh.....I see !

Yeah that would be GREAT to get the original hi-res images

It's such a shame now playing Riven and the images look blocky on our new fangled larger monitors

I've often thought about collecting all the hi-res images I have for the Myst games and getting them printed and bound in a nice A3 sized book.

With all the Groupon deals going around for that sort of thing I really should start gathering those images together.

I still love my Myst to Riven book......it's just such a shame so many of the images are so bloomin dark ! Don't know what they were thinking about in the publishing house
when that book was being checked over before printing...a great opportunity slightly spoiled.

On a different subject......Myst Press Packs....was there a Riven Pack released ans does anyone have pictures of the Revelation Pack ?

As far as I know the only Riven press pack was this...
Riven 1997 Electronic Press Kit ...

Can't help with the Revelation pack I'm afraid...

Nope......this doesn't cut it either ! lol

Wee scraps of paper with random notes :rotflol:

What we're looking for is high resolution unseen pictures of Riven.......or pre production sketches........or interesting planning notes.......or physical props......or.......stuff like that.

To be honest though.....its good to see that there is still an interest in Riven memorabilia, and I've been really surprised to see just how much money some of the items you've put up have made.

The wee paper notes are a bit abstract and I'm really keen to see what they'll go for.

Best of luck.....
