For those who are aware of my writing endeavour, I have moved on to another stage. I have now started to submit and pitch my novel to literary agents.
Fingers crossed!

I have had one reply so far, but alas it is a (form) rejection. Still waiting to hear back from half a dozen others. They generally state about 6 - 12 weeks, so still early days.
From my initial excitement I have quickly fallen back into thinking it's not good enough and should I try to write something different or just plain give up!
The waiting is difficult!

Giving up is not an option! Don't make us come over there. >:(

It's only been a little over a week so hang in there. We're here if you need support. :)

I remember reading the opening chapter of something you wrote a while back and enjoying it. Definitely don't give up! I just finished reading an anthology of Isaac Asimov's early work in which, after almost every short story, he lists at least one other that he wrote which was subsequently rejected. Good luck!

Yeah, that's the one. The story is complete, the first chapters changed almost beyond all recognition. Got the sequel plotted, but not written.
Currently just starting out on an alternative. A middle grade story to help encourage kids into STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). It's planned to be a kind of Macguyver for kids.

Update:

Have had a second rejection now. Still waiting on what I considered the best hopes

losing faith that it's good enough now!

Working on a different project and leaving the sequel for now.

So there is plenty of hope. Keep a good thought and don't forget about the many rejections thousands of writers, actors, and other brilliant artists like you received before they were recognized.
