  1. In Topic: Riven on Windows 10 - 64 bit

    15 January 2018 - 08:50 AM

I'm just glad to have it working at all.....lol

When I was on the GOG forum for Riven a clever user advised how to get into the Scumm options and this enablse you you put a filter on the graphics.

Normally I like to see things just as they are, but adding the filter over Riven's ageing graphics adds a nice softness to the game and improves the viewing experience in my option.

Still not sure if the videos are from the DVD or the CD version....peoples option on this seems to vary from post to post and from forum to forum !

    Ok....i'm convinced...lol

It's my wedding anniversary in July.....so I'll hint to my wife that this could be a wee "surprise" treat for me...... :squee:

  5. In Topic: How to run Riven smoothly on Windows, Mac, and Linux

    11 May 2017 - 06:43 AM

    Hmmmmm....this is interesting.

I'll need to look into this a bit further.

I've tried the CD version of the game with SCUMM but the loss of transitions and the lack of sound fades between locations made the game pretty awful.....the whole getting lost in the world feeling went away.

I'll check out the GOG Galaxy.

    Thanks for this ! :)
